Five Steps to Launching a Home Based Business

Despite what you may have heard, launching a home based business is easy. Launching one that is successful, profitable, and can be maintained over a long time frame is a little trickier.

Here are five steps to making sure your business is in it for the long haul.

1. Be interested. Build a business around something that you enjoy. There is nothing worse than running a business that turns you off. You’ll have clients who are depending you to provide them products or services. If you don’t like the work, you’ll hate every minute you’re in business.

2. Know the numbers. Know how much starting capital you’ll need to get off the ground, and how much you’ll need to get profitable. Understand how long it will take to become profitable, and plan accordingly. If the numbers don’t make sense, figure it out before you launch.

3. Plan your business. Not having a business plan is grave mistake. Getting a plan, even a rudimentary one-pager that lists out exactly what your business is, what it does, and how you’re going to make money, is important for keeping you on track.

4. Selling and Marketing. The primary reason most businesses fail is lack of sales. Even if you have a great product, a perfect business plan, and a hungry market, you’ll still crash and burn if you can’t close a deal.

5. Hang in there. The success rate statistics for new businesses are grim. Understand that you will encounter setbacks, and sometimes you’ll feel like throwing in the towel. Stay positive and keep working. You’ll eventually make it.

Creating a thriving home based business is one of the most rewarding things you can do. It can be hard and require a lot of composure and dedication, but once it’s going strong, you’ll be happy you made the effort.

Product Review – Can a Swimsuit Make You Look Slimmer?

It’s certainly an alluring tag for swimwear: “Look 10lbs lighter in 10 seconds!” – but can a swimsuit really make you look slimmer?

The US concept, which launched in the UK in 2004, also claims that a swimsuit will make you feel 10 times younger and 10 times more confident. However, it is easy to claim these things but is it as easy to show that they are true?

I don’t know how they’ve worked these figures out… (We never got to work on equations like that back in maths class…I wish we had!) But the fact remains that the Miraclesuit is here to stay. With the imminent launch of its fourth season, those people who thought this ‘miracle’ was merely a fad have been proved wrong.

The suit is made from a material called Miratex, a fabric containing three times as much Lycra as most fabrics, and boasting three times the hold of ordinary swimwear.

The Miraclesuit, with the help of Miratex, has the power to “contour, shape, slim and firm”. Or so their company claims. And many women seem to agree with them, judging by the popularity of the swimwear.

Mike Eve, director of Patricia Eve, the company that represents Mircalesuit in the UK, thinks there’s a growing demand for quality products and a “backlash against cheap goods.”

Does Miraclesuit swimwear work? Eve puts it, “Its success shows that the Miraclesuit is a product that actually does the job it says it will, and is not just an idle boast.”

Dieting is the sure way to look slimmer but we are all looking for the easy option of an instant miracle fix. We tested the suit and found that it does indeed make a person appear slimmer by ‘readjusting’ the wobbly bits making them look firmer and less obvious and enhancing the parts of a ladies body that look better when they have a bit more shape. Whether this gives a person more confidence is more difficult to measure but it seems an obvious follow on from an improved appearance.

The One Key Ingredient to a Successful Product Launch

If you’ve been paying attention to the internet marketing world over the past year or so you’ve probably heard about a few product launches that achieved almost unbelievable amounts of targeted web site traffic. A few internet marketers even broke the million dollar mark in just a few days.

If you’re like me you almost certainly wondered (with a little disbelief) how on earth these guys can generate so much targeted web site traffic so quickly. Truth is, nobody has a big enough customer list to sell so much so quickly on their own.

The key to massively increased targeted web site traffic is (of course) joint ventures with other internet marketers.

In fact, I dare say that the joint venture is the fastest way to grow your business (and by that I mean grow your targeted customer list). When you think about it for a moment it makes perfect sense.

If you do every traffic building technique out there you will only grow as fast as you can attract customers to your list. Don’t get me wrong, you should use every targeted web site traffic technique you can… but for explosive growth there is nothing that even comes close to a properly done joint venture.

With a joint venture you get the opportunity to leverage the list building and traffic generating efforts of all of your JV partners. The result is a surge of targeted web site traffic hitting your lead capture page and adding themselves to your list… and buying your offer.

What’s more, a successful joint venture or two will help you earn credibility within the internet marketing community which will make it much easier to attract joint venture and affiliate partners in the future.

Employing joint ventures is the quickest, cheapest and most reliable way to increase targeted web site traffic, grow your customer list and thus your business available on the internet today. Here’s the catch…

If you approach your potential joint venture partners the wrong way you will turn them off and ruin any chance of working with them in the future. Far too many internet marketers go for the mass approach and blast out a generic joint venture request to hundreds of list owners that they don’t know anything about.

The result is predictable… little or no response and a whole lot of wasted effort and time. Not to mention the potential harm to your reputation for basically spamming a bunch of people who you want to work with as partners.

The far better approach is to go one at a time. Do the research and learn as much about your potential business partner as you can. Join their list and promote their products as an affiliate. Nothing will make a favorable impression faster than sending your intended partner some buying customers. Another great way to build good will is to send then them a well written and glowing testimonial with your headshot image.

The key is to develop a real relationship with them. Once they get to know you and feel comfortable with you then you will have no problem approaching them with a joint venture proposal… and the odds of a favorable response are hugely better with this method.
